Mrs. McDonald's class is incredibly thankful for our volunteers! 💛🐆🖤

KCSD Preschool teachers (Erin Clarke, Brooke Chrisman, Patrick Murphy and Stacey Trevillyan), AEA consultant (Barb Puffinbarger) and Special Education Director (Lindsay Rains) engaged in professional learning around Specially Designed Instruction for PreSchool with the Department of Education for the past three years. Today marked the completion as they shared about how this learning has impacted changes in their instruction to impact successful inclusion for all students.

We wanted to take some time during National Public School Volunteer Week we wanted to recognize the wonderful volunteers we have at West Elementary! Thank you all so much! If you are interested in being more involved at West Elementary or at KCSD, reach out to our offices.

We want to give a big shout out to some of our very generous local business partners who donated to support the West Elementary Track & Field Day! They helped raise over $5,000 to cover the costs of all student and staff tshirts, as well as add money into our student activity account. Thank you so much!!

Mrs. Cook's class class built shelters for their chicks using toothpicks and jellybeans. They made sure the chick could fit inside and the shelter stood upright. With some clever thinking they made it work! Looks like we could have some future engineers!😊

During National Nutrition Month, Miss Mary Strawberry made stops at both Northstar and West Elementary! She comes to each classroom and talks about different food groups and how they all play an essential role in our diet every day as our students grow up to be strong individuals! After her lesson, students have the opportunity to try some different foods from the food group she taught on.

📢📢Attention parents! We have several 🧥 & sweaters and a couple pairs of snow pants in our lost and found along with MANY stocking 🧢 and 🧤 UNCLAIMED items will be donated after conferences
