Today, 3rd grader Derek D. was presented with his prizes from Jennifer Murphy for winning the SCISWA poster contest. Derek will have his picture included in their 2025 calendar.
Students in Mrs. Roby's room have put together a Thanksmas fundraiser for the Marion County Humane Society. "We are thankful they take care of the dogs and cats until they can find a home so we want to give them a great Christmas!" Student quote. All donations due to the office at Northstar by Monday, December 16th. "Bring food for Thanksgiving and Toys for Christmas" Student quote. Students in Mrs. Roby's class will deliver all donated items to the Humane Society on Thursday, December 19th.

Mrs. Dunkin's 4th Grade Class has been working hard completing their first literacy unit using our new curriculum! Students have talked in depth about personal narratives and what should be included in a great one. Friday, Mrs. Dunkin transformed their classroom into a cozy Starbucks to write the final draft of our 5 paragraph essays. Students enjoyed donuts, muffins, and chocolate "lattes"!

Their names were announced yesterday morning over the intercom, and given their certificate that included the nomination written by the staff member. School will dismiss 2 hours early at 1:25pm both Monday and Tuesday!

Students in 5AR and 5J were knighted at the conclusion of our Adventures of Don Quixote unit in Ms. Rankin's room! After learning about knighthood and reading Adventure of Don Quixote, Mr. Keitges led a Dubbing Ceremony, where students agreed to follow the "Panther Code of Chivalry". Students chose Sir or Dame names, chose a "Knight of the ..." title, colored a knight mask to wear for the ceremony, and Mr. Keitges dubbed each student in these classes a Northstar Knight! It was a fun way to conclude this unit!
