Skills for living has been working on their parenting skills by practicing being responsible (picking up the egg, transporting to and from classes, dropping off at daycare at the end of the day). They have also been keeping their babies safe by making sure they have proper carriers and supervising them throughout the day (making sure they dont fall or get hurt.

FCS class Food and Nutrition completed their kitchen math unit on Wednesday with cake 🎂 Students used conversions to divide a recipe down from a pan cake to a mug cake. Students' final part of the test was to make their mug cake with accurate measuring (otherwise, their cake might explode). Comlete with frosting and then clean up. Favorite test of the term. #SayYesToFCS #SoftSkills #EverydayMath

To introduce our unit, students performed tasks mothers do every day. They helped one another put on the pregnancy belly simulator and completed 5 tasks: tie/untie shoes, pick up objects from the floor, carry laundry around the room, step up/down and sit on the floor and get back up. 🤰🏁 #SayYestoFCS

Students completed a science experiment in Foods and Nutrition 1. They looked at the importance of each ingredient and how it affects the outcome of the cookie. We had a control cookie with everything done the way it was supposed to be done. We then had the following variations: Only white sugar, extra flour, only brown sugar, baking powder instead of baking soda, and melted butter instead of softened butter
