·      8th graders- if you were unable to attend the Panther Planning night, please have a parent or guardian sign your 4-year plan and return it to Mrs. Sass or Ms. Smith.

 

·       KMS Events for Friday, February 3:  6th Grade Fun Night from 3:30-5:00 PM.

Games in the gym. There is no cost for admission. Pizza, pop, and sport drinks will be sold for $1.00/slice $1.00/bottle.  7th & 8th Grade Dance from 7:00-9:00 PM. Admission will be $3.00. Pizza, pop and sport drinks will be sold for $1.00/slice $1.00/bottle.  KMS students only – KMS dress code and rules apply to both events.

 

·       Our Panther Focus this week is on the 10-5 Rule.  In homeroom you are talking about the 10-5 rule and treating people well.  Remember your challenge for the week and engage in a positive way with someone new each day.

 

·       We will have a PBIS raffle Friday.  Up for grabs will be a Walmart gift card, iPad stylus, an iPad keyboard, and gum.

 

·       Flyers are available in the office for the next Driver Education session in Knoxville.  Spring Classroom session will begin on Monday, March 6.  The spring classroom session will begin on Monday, March 6th. At this time online modules will become available; modules will have designated time frames in which to complete the assigned material. Students will work independently on the assigned curriculum and will have through the month of March to complete all modules and assignments. Classroom modules will meet or exceed 30 hours of driver education curriculum. There will be an arranged Zoom session to go over details for the class on Sunday, March 5th at 8pm. The Zoom link and other details will be emailed to students and families approximately 3-5 days before the first day of class.

 

·       KACT – Knoxville Area Community Theatre will be holding auditions for their next production – “Little Women” on Saturday, February 4th for 10:00 AM to Noon and on Sunday, February 5th from 6 – 8 PM at Memorial Hall.  There will be roles for 11 female actors – ages 9 to adult.  KMS student are invited to tryout. A flyer with more information can be picked up at the office.

 

·       Knoxville Public Library is excited to announce that their February Chess Hour is just around the corner.  The program will run on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-5:00pm, and is geared for 3rd through 8th graders. Flyers with details are available in the office

Athletics

·       Good Luck to our KMS boys’ basketball teams in their games today with Pella Christian.  The 8th grade will be playing at home.  The 7th grade will be traveling to Pella Christian and should be dismissed at 3:05 PM.

 

·       The Knoxville Shooting team will be holding a parent/student meeting for anyone interested in participating on Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30 PM at the HS media center. Youth in grades 6 through 12 can participate.
