KMS Announcements Thursday, March 6, 2025 Day 1
It’s KMS Red Out week: Red Out Dodgeball is canceled and will not be made up.
Attention all jazz band students. There will not be a Jazz band practice tomorrow morning.
Good Luck to the KMS students who are performing and are part of the stage crew for the KHS DRAMA DEPARTMENT who are presenting Seussical! Seussical is a retelling of Dr. Seuss books through words, singing, and dancing. You will be entertained, have fun, and maybe even learn something. Performances are Mar 7th (7pm), Mar 8th (7pm), and Mar 9th (2pm). Tickets are $10 and can be bought online or at the door. https://knoxvillehs.seatyourself.biz/.
Mark your calendars for these upcoming events –
Tuesday, March 11 will be a no school day due to the Boy’s State Tournament Game. The All School band concert will be held in the evening.
Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13 – Parent conferences. 2 hour early dismissal both days. Parent conferences will run from 2:00 - 7:00 PM both days. Parents were sent an email with further information.
Friday, March 14 – No school and the beginning of Spring Break. No school for Spring break March 14 - 21. Classes resume on Monday, March 24.
Students eligible and interested in the next Driver Ed session with Triple R Driving School – beginning March 23. Registration forms are available at the Communication Center by the office. There is also registration information for the Training Wheels Drive Ed program to pick up if you are interested.
Athletics -
There will be a meeting on Wednesday March 12th for seventh & eighth grade girls who would like to join the track team. We'll meet in the gym right after school. If you're unable to make the meeting, you can contact Coach Cunningham at jcunning73@gmail.com
Due to the generosity of two local businesses, we are happy to offer up to two pep buses for any 7-12 KCSD student for next Tuesday's Boys Basketball State Tournament game at Wells Fargo Arena. There will be no charge for students to ride the bus. Students will be responsible for buying their own ticket. The pep bus will depart from the Knoxville High School student parking lot at 9:10 AM and will return after our game. Space will be limited to the first 80 students. Students can sign-up in either the middle school or high school office after 1:00 PM today and the deadline to sign-up is by the end of the school day this coming Friday.

District – Due to the Knoxville boys basketball State Tournament game, there will be no school for KCSD on Tuesday, March 11.
Knoxville will play Cedar Rapids Xavier at 1030 AM at Wells Fargo Arena. The 6-12 band concert scheduled for Tuesday night in the Knoxville High School gym will happen as scheduled; 630 PM start.
For fans planning to attend Tuesday's State Basketball game, here are some details to know:
* Knoxville spectators will sit on the side behind the teams.
* Tickets can be purchased online or can be purchased at the arena. There is a service fee for tickets purchased online.
* Wells Fargo Arena has implemented a clear bag policy for all events. A maximum size of 12"x6"x12" is permitted. Exceptions will be made for medical, family, or child care bags or small clutches no larger than 4.5"x 6.5"
* All spectators from kindergarten on up must purchase a ticket.
* No banners, signs, hoops, balloons, or artificial noisemakers are allowed.
* Spectators are able to enter through the north, south and skywalk entrances.
* WFA staff has created plans for spectators leaving one game and spectators coming into the next game. You may leave the arena and re-enter on the same scanned online ticket. Make sure fans communicate with the ticket takers to receive the proper instructions to re-enter without a second admission fee.
