Summer Library Program Right Around the Corner!

We’re gearing up at the library for a great summer, which is jam-packed with programs and activities for the entire family. Our Summer Library Reading Program will run for seven fun-filled weeks. Our theme is Find Your Voice. Whether it’s through using your actual voice, your written words, your creations or your actions, we’ll help you express yourself, tell your story, and make your mark on the world!

On May 31, we’ll kick off the program with some brainy STEM-themed activities, sponsored by PBS. Throughout the month, we’ll practice using our musical voices during special story and craft days, we’ll express ourselves through the joy of movement and dance, we’ll hear from writers and poets who have told their stories with powerful words, and we’ll explore career options that will open young people’s worlds.

Librarian Connie Davids had a great time visiting with the kids at the schools recently. She distributed reading logs to the kids so they’ll be ready to hit the ground running. Don’t worry, though, if your kiddo’s log got lost in a folder–you can stop by the library to pick one up, along with a detailed calendar of events, or visit our website at www.knoxville.lib.ia.us to download them. Be sure to follow us on Facebook for reminders about upcoming events. We can’t wait to see you at the library this summer!
