► 2/10/2021 The Knoxville Community School District collaborated with Marion County Public Health Department to provide a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for district staff on Tuesday, February 9.
Through the clinic, 213 KCSD staff received the first dose of the vaccine. The second dose is scheduled to be delivered to district staff on Thursday, March 11.
“We would like to thank the team at Marion County Public Health for running this vaccination clinic. They have been such an incredible partner and resource for KCSD and the entire Knoxville community during the pandemic,” said Cassi Pearson, KCSD Superintendent. “This first round went very smoothly, and our staff members were thrilled to have the opportunity to receive the vaccine. We look forward to the next round in March."
► 2/9/2021 Since August, our goal has been to safely keep kids in school. That is still our goal, and even though Governor Reynolds has started relaxing some of the state expectations, we will continue with all of our current safety measures at this time. Students, staff and spectators will need to have a face covering on in our buildings. We encourage hand washing/sanitizing and social distancing.
The majority of our staff will receive their first dose of the vaccine on Tuesday afternoon. The second dose is scheduled for March 11. We will continue to monitor the virus and vaccine data for our community and county. Hopefully, someday this year, we will be able to relax some of our precautionary measures, too!
►Building Level Plans
►1/8/2021 After consultation with Marion County Public Health and a review of data, KCSD will not restrict the number of fans that can attend our home extra-curricular events. This plan will start on Saturday, January 9 with high school basketball.
Requirements for fans wishing to attend our home events:
Masks are still required.
Groups of spectators must social distance.
If you do not feel well - stay home.
For those interested, there will still be a free livestream option to view our home high school events.
We will continue to monitor our data and make adjustments as needed to ensure the health and safety of our students, families, and community.
