Brian Brooks - Class of 1994: Brian was a multi-sport standout for Knoxville, and named the outstanding athlete in his class. Brian found success on the foot field that earned him three letters in this sport for the Panthers.
As a senior playing Center, he was a unanimous All District selection, First Team All Marion County, and named Class 3A First Team All State. On the defensive side of the ball, Brooks led the team in tackles, and was named team MVP.
Following that season, Brooks was selected to the 1994 Shrine Bowl All Star Game, where he was the starting Center for the South team.
Brian took his talents to UNI, where after one season on the football team, he was introduced to the game of rugby. He made the switch to that sport for his final three years of school, being named MVP of the team in his senior year.
Brian has worked for the Department of Veteran Affairs for the past 22 years, and coached multiple youth sports in Knoxville. His competitive fire has stayed alive as he's the all-time State of Iowa arm wrestling champion, having won the state title 23 times.
