KCSD Wellness

The Knoxville Community School District is dedicated to supporting the optimal development of every student. The Board believes that in order for students to achieve personal, academic, developmental, and social success, a positive, safe, and health-promoting learning environment must be present at all levels and in all settings. The district offers a comprehensive learning environment that fosters and encourages lifelong wellness behaviors. Every aspect of the school environment—not just the classroom—will align with the district’s health goals to positively shape students’ understanding, beliefs, and habits related to good nutrition and regular physical activity.

Wellness Committee

The Wellness Team has been assembled with the focus centered on conducting a Triennial Assessment of the district's Wellness Policy.
This assessment, required every three years, provides an opportunity to evaluate and update the School Wellness Policy. Staff members from across the district are invited to join the team and contribute their input during this process.
