Have you scheduled your student’s immunization/well-child appointment yet? 

The Knoxville Community School District would like to remind families that there are immunization updates for children at the preschool age, and for students entering kindergarten, seventh grade and twelfth grade. NOW is the time to call your healthcare provider to make an appointment for immunizations and any well-child visits to help ensure immunizations are complete and up-to-date before school starts in the fall.

Students entering seventh grade will need the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines; students entering twelfth grade will need the second dose of the Meningococcal vaccine. Your healthcare provider may have recommendations for other immunizations for your student.

Families may choose for their eligible student to get a COVID-19 vaccine. At this time, a COVID-19 vaccine is not required for school. The Moderna vaccine is currently approved for those 18 years of age and older with two shots given 28 days apart. The Pfizer vaccine is currently approved for those 16 years of age and older with two shots given 21 days apart. The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is not being administered at this time.
