KCSD Completes Fall Leadership Academy

The Knoxville Community School District concluded its fall Leadership Academy with its final meeting on November 3.

The Leadership Academy met four times over October and November to take an in-depth look at how the district operates in hopes of inspiring them to engage in potential leadership opportunities with our school district and community.

“We would like to thank those who attended our fall Leadership Academy,” said Cassi Pearson, KCSD Superintendent. “We were able to have open and thoughtful discussions on many important topics and opportunities within our district. Through this process, we have gained clarity on how best to engage with our community to better serve our students, families and community.”

The Leadership Academy featured four sessions that offered insights on KCSD policies, human resources, academics, extracurricular activities, school finance, school facilities, child nutrition, technology and transportation.

"Thank you for the opportunity and hard work put into the Leadership Academy,” said one Leadership Academy attendee. “It was a great experience and I learned so much."

Each time the team met, they were given a tour of one of the KCSD facilities, including West Elementary, Northstar Elementary, the new Knoxville Middle School, Knoxville High School and the Bus Barn.

Of the experience, another participant said, “I appreciate the thoroughness and everyone’s participation. I am glad I participated.”

For community members interested in participating, the Knoxville Community School District will hold its next Leadership Academy in the fall of 2023.
